OMAN

Arab country in southwest Asia. Oman´s borders are the UAE on the northwest , Saudia Arabia on the west and Yemen o the southwest. In Oman most of the people speak Arabic, the capital of Oman is Muscat.

Oman´s climate is hot and dry in the interior and humid along the coast. The goverment does not keep statistics on religious affiliation, but most citizens are Muslims.

Last but not least Oman is famous for its Khanjar knives which are curved dagger worn during Holidays as part of Ceremonial dress.

Tajikistan

History

Tajikistan is a mountainous landlocked country in central asia. It borders are china,kyrgyzstan, and Uzbekistan.

Tajikistan has been inhabited continously since 4000 BCE. It has been ruled under many empires, for the longest period being part if The Persian Empire.

T ajiskistan means the "Land of the Tajik". Tajik was used to differentiate Pesians from Turks in Central Asia.

Clothes

Tajik boys and men for ceremonial ocassion wears long coat-like garment. It is call "Chapon Velvet Outfit"

Tajik women wear simple clothes and they only use traditional clothes when they have a Ceremoni. Sometimes women cover their head.

The Stoning of Soraya

"The Stoning of Soraya M" takes place in Iran. When I first saw the movie, I got really angry about the way they treat women. It is so sad that they still do that in Iran and some other places. If I was Soraya I would have left that man and run away with my daughters to the town and tried to develop myself . I don´t know but I would have crossed the border or something but disapeared with my daughters. And my sons, well they don´t care about me, they only cared about what their father tells them so I would leave them with their father.

It was very disgusting how they or anybody else enjoyed Soraya´s death just for a religion.

I think that the man who lied should have been stoned too, but on the other hand I understand the man, but I feel very angry; he shouldn´t have said anything and just let the monster (husband) find another way to get rid of her but prevent

Soraya from what her husband was planing.

Anyway I think it is the worst but interesting movie I have ever seen. I would like to meet the real sons of Soraya.

Yemen clothing

YEMENI CLOTHING

A majority of women in Yemen wear Lithma or Bourga´a. They also wear Hijab, which is the Islamic requirement for women. The Balto is the black thing that women use above their cloths.

The clothing of men in Yemen are, the Thobe which is usually a tailor made with white robe. The most important accessory the Jambia, which consists of three parts, the Jamnia: is a steel curved; Asib: is simple the case that holds the blade and case.
